The film is a sequel to the 2018 faith-based biographical drama I Can Only Imagine, and continues the story of Bart Millard, frontman of the Christian band MercyMe.  

It is directed by Andrew Erwin and Brent McCorkle, with a screenplay by McCorkle.  

The cast includes returning actors such as John Michael Finley (as Bart Millard), Dennis Quaid, and Trace Adkins; new additions include Milo Ventimiglia, Sophie Skelton, and Arielle Kebbel.  

The story focuses on the next phase of Bart Millard’s career and his personal life including the inspiration behind the band’s song Even If.  

The release date in the United States is set for February 20, 2026, having been moved up from an earlier March date.  

Production involved filming in locations including Nashville, Tennessee.  

A very large number of extras were used in concert scenes, including an approximate crowd of 8,000 at one shot for a live-show sequence.
