The Drama-Comedy movie stars Ivy Rose (Olivia Colman) and Theo Rose (Benedict Cumberbatch) as The Roses a wonderful family who truly enjoy their time together. They have two kids and live happily, but everything changes when Theo loses his job as a successful architect.
Meanwhile, Ivy, who is a great cook, gets an unexpected opportunity when Theo opens a small restaurant for her. His idea is simple for her to share her delicious food with others and fulfill her dream of having people taste her dishes.
Ivy’s restaurant receives glowing reviews, and soon, she begins attracting a large number of customers. This success makes Theo a bit jealous at first. Later, Ivy suggests that they switch roles she would take up the responsibilities of working while Theo stays home to look after the kids. Surprisingly, Theo falls in love with the new role and becomes deeply involved in raising the children in a special and nurturing way.
However, Ivy starts missing many important moments in their children’s lives, which creates growing tension between the couple. Their conflict continues for many years until they finally learn to understand and settle their differences.
The Roses is a very interesting movie to watch for both single and married people full of lessons about family, love, and balance. I’ll give the movie 7/10, and I definitely think you should see it too.
