Breakthrough is an emotional and faith-filled movie based on a true story that reminds us that miracles still happen. The story follows John Smith, a 14-year-old boy who accidentally falls into an icy lake while playing with his friends. After being trapped underwater for over fifteen minutes, John was pronounced clinically dead.
His mother, Joyce Smith, refused to accept the tragic news. While doctors and even close friends had lost all hope, Joyce who was a devoted member of her church chose to hold on to her faith in God. She prayed endlessly, believing her son would live again. Against all odds, John’s heart suddenly started beating, leaving everyone in shock and awe. What followed was a slow but powerful recovery that changed not just their family, but everyone around them.
